akr4 film festival

Create a fictional film festival poster in a Russian constructivist style.

This poster is for the AKR4 film festival – the content is imagined. It has an angular layout, layered colors and images, and powerful typography (Kremlin typeface) to represent constructivism. I was inspired by Russian graphic designer Alexander Rodchenko’s work.

Culture shock

Sophomore through senior year of college I was an online DJ for Indiana University’s WIUX student radio. Part of having a show required members to be on one or more WIUX committees each semester. I was on the Art Committee.

This poster was produced for Culture Shock, WIUX’s annual music festival, and was displayed around campus. The record graphic was done in an op art style. The concept borrowed from Swiss graphic design style: blocky layout, minimalist design, and sans serif typeface.

Little 500

Choose a graphic designer and create a poster for the annual Indiana University Little 500 bike race. The poster's design must be influenced by the designer and their style.

This poster was inspired by Milton Glaser, specifically his iconic Bob Dylan poster. I illustrated a Little 500 biker riding on colorful racetrack. Looking at photos of Little 500 bikers and sketching them for reference helped me translate a complex action into a graphic silhouette. The typeface is called “Baby Teeth” and is similar to the typography used in Glaser’s Bob Dylan poster.
